About James Cook
What do I do?
I am currently a Java Evangelist with Infragistics Inc. In this role I explain Java to current and prospective customers, provide consulting expertise, write sample applications and present papers at industry conferences.
Who am I?
Beats me. ;^) I'm a life long programmer and "technologist" and wrote my first program (in BASIC) on a PDP-11 via a teletype. I've been involved with Java since the late 1990s and have helped build Enterprise Java applications for a wide range of Fortune 500 companies including AMEX, FleetBoston, JP Morgan Chase and many others.
What do I do beside computers?
Among other things, I build geodesic domes. I have a 22 foot dome operating as a greenhouse in my backyard. Hopefully my daughter will have fresh strawberries at Christmas. I play the piano (badly) and am a big fan of finger-style guitarists like Micheal Hedges, Doyle Dykes and Tommy Emmanuel.
