Using Custom Themes in Visual Studio LightSwitch

With the NetAdvantage for Visual Studio LightSwitch product launch, we included 4 killer themes to beautify the look of you LightSwitch application.  The themes we shipped are:

• Office 2010 Blue
• Metro
• Orange
• IG Theme

Before you can start with Themes, make sure you have LightSwitch installed, as well as the Infragistics LightSwitch controls, which you can grab here:

Once you have this installed, modifying a theme in LightSwitch is simple, follow these steps:

1. Open the Properties Editor for the current project, on the Extensions tab, make sure the Infragistics LightSwitch Extensions are enabled (and set to ‘use in new projects’).

2. On the General Properties tab, in the Theme dropdown, select the Theme that you want to try out.

A nice bonus is that our themes work across the Microsoft controls as well as the Infragistics LightSwitch controls, and they include the built in dialogs.  There is the Orders table Edit dialog with the Orange theme applied:
