How to: Write a Chatroom WebApp with Atlas!

Being in the ASP.NET buisiness is one of the most exciting places to be right now.  With Atlas http://atlas.asp.net making its appearance on the scene, writing web apps is becoming even easier than ever before.

To demonstrate this, I decided to write a chatroom web application using Atlas.  At first I thought I was being a little ambitious, but I quickly decided this was extremely possible.  If you're interested, take a look at the article that I wrote this month for asp.netPRO (http://www.aspnetpro.com/features/default.asp)

The coolest thing for me, was that I was able to write such a cool web app, and it only involved 25 lines of javascript!

Let me know what you think.  And yes, you can finally post your comments now!

Well, it appears I jumped the gun a little here. Can you really blame me? After doing something so cool, I had to blog about it immediately.

Hopefully the article will be posted in the next week or so. I will be sure to let you know as soon as it's up.

Hi Tony,

Have you been able to use the Atlas update panel with Infragistics UltraWebGrid? Just setting ScriptManager.EnablePartialRendering=true seems to break the grid.

If you have solution, please post it at http://forums.asp.net/thread/1231990.aspx as other people are looking for answers.

As luck may have it, one of the members of our Development team is headed out to Redmond next week. I'll be sure to have him discuss this issue with the Atlas team while he's out there.

Hi Jacques,
<br /><br />

Both sides are looking into the issues right now. Microsoft has requested that we make a few changes in order to work better with Atlas, which we are in the process of doing. Hopefully that fixes the problems. If you haven't done so already, please report the problem to our Developer Support Deptartment (<a href="http://devcenter.infragistics.com"></a>) Once you are linked to this bug, you will be automatically notified when any change in status is made.
